Big News!

Today Brooke had her first Krispy Kreme doughnut. She thoroughly enjoyed it! Today was National Doughnut Day so they were giving a free doughnut to all customers all day! Brooke chose glazed chocolate with sprinkles.

Other big news.. Brooke is going to be a big sister! I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and just starting to feel ill. We are very excited!

Brooke had fun playing in this box all day. She spent an hour playing with Grandpa Dave and the box. She giggled the most playing with Abby in the box though!

Brooke and I signed up for a mommy and me type gymnastics class. Yesterday was our first day and it was a hit! She loved it! We forgot our camera unfortunately but thanks to Melissa and Aubrey we got a few for our first day! I'll have to remember it next time!

Sesame Street Live!!!!

We took Brooke to see Sesame Street Live - Elmo's Green Thumb. She absolutely loved it!

Here she is in her Elmo outfit already to meet him!

We also were able to take several videos during the show. She danced and was so excited. We had great seats (front row on the right side) and she got to touch probably 5 or 6 of them too. We were able to capture some of those on video. The video is kind of long, but so totally worth it.

Hop Hop Hop

Great Grandma and Grandpa Sturtz had a hopping bunny for Easter. Brooke loved this bunny, but also hated it. She continually wanted people to wind it up to make it hop. She would actually point at it and say hop hop hop and pull people's hands toward it. She however refused to touch it herself. She would get really close but never touch it. She would point at parts of it, but not touch it. We all got quite a kick out of it!

Piano Piano Piano

As I mentioned in the previous post, Brooke's favorite thing to do was play the piano with Great Grandma Sturtz. This was her favorite last time we visited too.

This is a video of Brooke this year. She probably spent at least 1/2 of her time at her grandparents sitting on that bench. She is able to get into it now and dance a little too.

Minnesota!

This last weekend we went to Minnesota to visit Matt's Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc. Brooke traveled really well and we all had a good time seeing everyone.

Here is a picture of Brooke playing the piano with Great Grandma Sturtz. This was her favorite thing of the whole trip!

We also made it for a day at the Mall of America. Whew.. it was a little too much mall for me!

Here is a picture of Brooke on her first amusement park ride. There is an amusement park in the middle of the Mall of America.

We also had to visit Tyrone, since Backyardigans is one of Brooke's favorite shows.

The toy stores were great at the mall too. Brooke played at the Lego store with Daddy, and then loved the train table at another toy store.

Also had to check out the log water ride before moving onto the next adventure. Too bad Brooke was too little to go on that one!

The Mall of America also has an aquarium underneath it. It was fun and Brooke liked seeing all the Sharks and fish.

Here is a video of Brooke dancing. She loves to dance! She has a hard time moving her arms at the same time that she is moving her feet.. She also loves to twirl and makes herself dizzy that sometimes she falls while dancing. Here I was hoping she would have better moves then her mommy or daddy.

Brooke's First Dress Sewn By Mommy!

I discovered this great little etsy shop called Little Fish in a Big Pond.

I made Brooke her first dress with one of their patterns. It turned out great as you can see!!

It's a little big on Brooke still.. But she'll eventually grow into it! She can use it as a top when she grows too much for it to be a dress too!

Matt and I were lucky enough to go to St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands for a week. We were even luckier that my parents flew in and took care of Brooke for the week. I was nervous about leaving Brooke, but we Skyped every night. Brooke had a great time with GrandMary and Grandpa Moose. They taught her to say "Wow" and "Peace" too.

Grandpa Moose and GrandMary took Brooke on a field trip to the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Museum. They started out with a nice breakfast and IHOP and then headed down there.

Saturday they took another field trip to the Pearl Street Mall. I guess Brooke loved all the street performers and danced to their music. She then put a dollar in one of their cases to show how much she liked them.

Lastly, Grandpa Moose taught Brooke how to drink from the drinking fountain!

I hope you all had an excellent Valentines Day. We had a pretty nice day. Brooke enjoyed all the little gifts she got, especially the temporary tattoos! One of her best words is heart too.. so she said it all day long. She would point at all the hearts on everything and tell us "heart". Too cute!

Here is Brooke in her Valentines Day outfit. This is also her "smile" too. I told her to smile for the camera, and this is what I got! TOO FREAKING CUTE!

Matt and I had already celebrated Valentines Day by going to the Melting Pot without baby on Tuesday. We still split a nice steak, some crab legs, twice baked potatoes and a yummy brownie at home after Brooke went to bed!

We have been lucky this year to go skiing several times. 3 out of 5 times Brooke has been along. We all take turns watching her in the lodge, and hope she takes a nap at some point. One of the times Dannetta and Shiloh were able to join us..

Even these pictures were taken a while ago... The first set of pictures is when we went swimming with cousin Calvin. It was Calvin's first time swimming, but Brooke is a pro and loves swimming!

This next picture is Brooke's new activity that keeps her occupied for quite a while! She loves standing at the sink and playing in the water. I have to put towels all around her because part of what she likes to do is have the toys drip on the floor..

This is a picture of Brooke chilling out watching her favorite show Sesame Street.. I'm a little disappointed the new season doesn't start until November.. I need some new episodes!

Lastly.. here is a picture of Keelyn our kitty.. she has grown a bunch! She loves to watch the fish too!

Brooke is growing so fast! She is 16 months today! Here is a video of Brooke playing in her butterfly tent while Jen was babysitting her. She of course has her new favorite word "HI". She says it all the time. It would be annoying if it weren't so cute! I think she likes it because people at stores and restaurants respond when she says it.

Brooke got lots of Mardi Gras beads for Christmas. She absolutely LOVES them. She puts them on and then takes them off, then puts them on and takes them off. Pretty! We won't tell her what Nana had to do to get those beads for her for Christmas..

Brooke got a baby doll for Christmas from Nana that comes with one of those liquid disappearing bottles. She loves to feed it and started today making little sucking noises when she puts the bottle in the baby's mouth. Way too cute! She also showed one of her new words "hat". It's not super new but she likes to put things on her head and say it.

Rough Week..

Brooke has had a fever on again off again all week. She sometimes doesn't sleep well, but other times sleeps really well. Last night she didn't sleep well, but wasn't ready to get up yet so we cuddled on the floor. She fell asleep and I got up, and she continued to sleep rolling around on her bedroom floor.

A Very Merry Sewing Christmas!

I asked for a sewing machine for Christmas. I have never EVER used one before, but thought I might like to start making stuff. Matt gave me a nice new machine! Yesterday my mother in law gave me a little lesson and I made a Christmas gift bag with button hole and button and everything! I'm posting a picture of my first project as I'm very proud! The next bag I'm going to make I'm going to put a ribbon in the top to make a draw string kind of thing. Maybe I'll be able to make Brooke's Halloween costume next year!

Merry Christmas

We have had a very Merry Christmas. We had a Christmas Eve open house in which we had around 35 people come and celebrate with us. It was a lot of fun and great to see everyone!

This is a picture of Brooke entertaining herself while I get ready for the party. She can entertain herself for over a 1/2 hour just flipping through books in her room. It's great!

Christmas morning was fun too! Brooke was spoiled with so many toys from everyone. She received lots of books, clothes, and Elmo paraphernalia. Here is a picture of Brooke in her Christmas PJ's. Our family has a tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve that contains PJ's that you wear to bed that night and while opening presents the next morning.

Here is Brooke with her Cabbage Patch doll "Starr" that she received from Grandmary and Grandpa Moose.
