A Very Merry Sewing Christmas!

I asked for a sewing machine for Christmas. I have never EVER used one before, but thought I might like to start making stuff. Matt gave me a nice new machine! Yesterday my mother in law gave me a little lesson and I made a Christmas gift bag with button hole and button and everything! I'm posting a picture of my first project as I'm very proud! The next bag I'm going to make I'm going to put a ribbon in the top to make a draw string kind of thing. Maybe I'll be able to make Brooke's Halloween costume next year!

Merry Christmas

We have had a very Merry Christmas. We had a Christmas Eve open house in which we had around 35 people come and celebrate with us. It was a lot of fun and great to see everyone!

This is a picture of Brooke entertaining herself while I get ready for the party. She can entertain herself for over a 1/2 hour just flipping through books in her room. It's great!

Christmas morning was fun too! Brooke was spoiled with so many toys from everyone. She received lots of books, clothes, and Elmo paraphernalia. Here is a picture of Brooke in her Christmas PJ's. Our family has a tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve that contains PJ's that you wear to bed that night and while opening presents the next morning.

Here is Brooke with her Cabbage Patch doll "Starr" that she received from Grandmary and Grandpa Moose.

Play the drums everyone, play the drums! Have some fun everyone play the drums!

New Kitty Update

An update on our new kitty. Her name is Keelyn, which is Irish and means "Lively". She has grown quite a bit already as well as has grown on Joe.. It's fun to have a kitten around the house!

Santa Visit #4

This was our 4th visit to seeing Santa. The first was at the Niwot Lighting Festival, then there was the Santa at the mall, and then there was the one at the Broomfield Lighting Festival, and lastly this was the free Santa at the Insurance office. I think I have unsuccessfully convinced Brooke that Santa isn't creepy, but nice and brings toys to babies..

SNOW!

We have had our first snow storm with sub zero weather. It got to ten below last night. Here is a picture of Brooke all bundled up and playing in the snow! Maybe when the temperature gets warmer we'll play outside a little longer..

On a funnier note.. Brooke and I got home this morning and when I went to lay her down for her nap I was a nice mommy and put on some sweatpants instead of putting her jeans back on. After 45 minutes of listening to her play and not sleep I finally went in to see what's going on. She had thrown everything out of her crib and had no pants or diaper on. She was really proud of herself and was jumping up and down in her crib. Upon further inspection, I realized she had pooped in her crib. After cleaning that up and getting her dressed again she went right to sleep. She must have worn herself out with all of her silliness!

New Addition to the Family..

Some big news for you all! We have added to our family again! I brought home a cute little kitten. Joe has missed Lance terribly, so we felt he needed a buddy. This time he is getting a girlfriend. Brooke is excited but also jealous of the kitty. Joe switches from playing with the kitty to abusing the kitty. So.. all in all very normal for our household! hehehe.. No name determined yet!

Santa at the Mall

Here is a picture of Brooke with Santa. You might look at this picture and say.. "Wow, Brooke doesn't look very happy" or "What a beautiful little girl, too bad she isn't smiling". Brooke has been terrified of other Santas, so I'm just happy she isn't screaming! :) We'll try the free drunk Santa on Saturday!

Manheim Steemrollers

Last weekend Matt was putting Christmas lights up on the house and at one point needed help so I corralled Brooke in the Durango. Matt was listening to Manheim Steemrollers (Christmas music) while putting up the lights. Here is a video of Brooke dancing to the Christmas music. She LOVES to dance! Every time I play this video she starts to dance again!
