Mom's Birthday..

Yesterday was my birthday and I had a little non mommy time. I went to see Sex in the City with another mommy.. and Brooke stayed home with dad. It was a good movie and it was fun to go out with Amy!

Matt, Brooke and I went to Outback for dinner. YUM! Brooke enjoyed her feast of cheese too!

Cousin Calvin!

Congrats to Aunt Libby and Uncle Sky! They had their baby boy Calvin on 6/25/08 at 12:57am. He weighs 7lbs and is a cutie!

Father's Day

Here is a post about Father's day... a little late!

We took Brooke swimming at The Bay, which is the outdoor pool in Broomfield. Her friend Sawyer loves his little inner tube because he can just walk around the pool. Brooke could touch the bottom too.. but she didn't like it as much. She would rather be held by mom or dad and just splash.. But she looks SO cute in her ladybug innertube!



I have been really bad at taking pictures the last week! Brooke and I went to the zoo on Friday. It was very warm and I think liked it at first but was very tired at the end.. when I finally remembered to take a picture.. but figured she was too grumpy at that point to even try.

I'll try to be better this week.. Grandmary is coming out on Friday.. so I'm sure she'll remind me!

9 Month Well Baby Checkup

Brooke had her 9 month doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything was status quo. Brooke weighed 18lbs 4 oz. That is the 39%. Her length was 28.5 inches, which is the 81%. Her head circumference was 17.75 inches putting it in the 80%. Brooke is still tall and skinny. The doctor wasn't worried about her weight but said to make sure we don't feed her less!

The goal the doctor gave us are to work on more advanced foods. She already eats lots of different things. Brooke likes most all of the jarred baby food, avocados, pasta, crackers, cheerios, american cheese, and today we discovered she likes kiwi! The other goal the doctor gave us was to baby proof our house, which we have already begun!

The big milestones Brooke has achieved is that she is crawling, pulling herself up, cruising around the furniture, walking when you hold her hands, able to sit from the crawling postion, and feeding herself. And of course the most important one to us is that she is not eating at all during the night anymore, and sleeps completely from 8am to 8pm about twice a week. For those of you that aren't parents.. that's a big deal! Still no teeth though!

Brooke's favorite activities currently are playing at her music activity table, looking outside, playing with the newspaper, crawling as fast as she can in circles, and playing with her friend Sawyer. They really do interact and get excited when they see each other now! Brooke is also good at clapping, making nosies with her mouth, and today started waving to herself. Brooke says dada, mama and baba.

We can't wait for the next few months to watch her begin to walk!

Here is a picture of them today at their playdate! Emma (who we have known just as long but didn't make it to the Halloween party), Winston, Brooke and Kiele. Emma (6/7/07), Winston (7/7/07) and Brooke (9/7/07) all belong to the born on a 7 club!

Follow the leader

Brooke is starting to do the same things Matt and I do.. Of course I took this video 10 minutes before bedtime so she is tired and not quite as cooperative and usual, but you get the idea!

Playdate

Brooke had a playdate today. Her best friend Sawyer came over as well as Kaelynne, whom she met in swim lessons. The activity table was the most popular and they played together nicely! Maybe we'll have to playdates more often!

Missing a friend

Matt and I usuallky go and share a bagel a couple times of week and in the process have become friends with the manager. Brooke absolutely loves Susan! Susan has decided to move on to a new job and we will miss her!

Sunday Flowers

On Sunday Matt and I spent most of the day planting flowers. Brooke was very helpful as you can see! The flowers look beautiful!
