Great Grandma's Sweater!

After Brooke's bath today she was a tad bit chilly. So she was bundled up and had the opportunity to wear the sweater her great grandma knit her! Isn't she adorable?

Brooke's First Bath!

Today Brooke had her first bath. Her umbilical cord fell off over a week ago, but we still had to wait until her belly button completely healed! We took the advice of the pediatrician and mom got in the bathtub and held her while dad helped wash her. She actually liked the bath! She's our water baby and future scuba diver after all! Then she started to get cold and was ready to snuggle with dad in her towel!

In the news!

Brooke isn't even three weeks old and already has her name in the newspaper!

Blizzard of Babies

She isn't really a blizzard baby, as I was already pregnant by the time of the first storm. In fact I made Matt dig out the car to go to the grocery store for a second pregnancy test on that first storm day! We all know the results 9 months later! There are plenty of blizzard babies though and all the hospitals are overwhelmed. There were 10 babies born at the little hospital we were at the day Brooke was born!

Grandma gone

Well Brooke is now 10 days old and I think that maybe Matt and I are getting a little better grip on things. It was rough with grandma leaving on Saturday as she was a big help, and the only reason that we were getting any real sleep. Grandma had a hard time leaving as well!

I'm not sure if Matt and I are getting more sleep.. or if we are just getting use to having less sleep. We have an open offer to all family and friends to come hold Brooke for an hour or so and let mom sleep! She's just lucky we love her so much and she is so darn cute!

Baby is Here!

Hey Everyone.. Sorry it has taken so long for an update! Having a baby is tiring!

First update: I didn't actually have to be induced. I went into labor on my own Thursday night! Which is good because there was 10 babies born at the hospital on Friday, and I would have probably been rescheduled for Monday. So around 5:30am on Friday we headed to the hospital. Everything went great and Brooke joined us at 6:04pm. She weighed 7lbs 4oz, and was 20 inches long.

We came home from the hospital on Sunday around lunch time. It's been really tiring, but I think Matt and I have figured a few things out now and we are actually able to sleep more than a couple hours a night. I think from when she was born until just last night, I was getting 4 or 5 hours, or sometimes less, sleep a day! Last night I actually got 8 I believe!

She is absolutely perfect! I can't believe how much we love her. We went to the pediatrician for our first appointment yesterday, and he agreed that she is perfect! She also already gained an ounce since leaving the hospital, which is great too!

We'll post pictures real soon, hopefully today even!

Inducement Anyone?

Brooke is still not here! And we will be a week overdue tomorrow. I had been sleeping really well lately and feeling somewhat more comfortable..

Matt and I went to the doctor yesterday and I mentioned how I didn't have any pelvic pain for almost a week. The doctor said she doubted the baby had moved up as that never happens.. but then when she did the exam, she said that in fact the baby has moved up and her head is no longer engaged in my pelvis. How frustraiting! Brooke just doesn't want to come out to meet us!

So.. They are going to induce me on Friday morning. My mom is flying out to day to be a support. Hopefully we have a baby on Friday!
