Belly Update

Here is a picture of me at 34 weeks! It keeps growing! I'm now at 35 weeks, and keep reminding myself I only have 5 weeks to go! I was doing really well until about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Now I'm having more and more difficulty bending over and reaching my feet. Feeding Ikaika (whos dog food is in a bin near the floor) has gotten almost impossible! I also am having more and more difficulty sleeping, and Brooke (yes if you didn't know.. that's her name!) has decided to position herself where her feet are continually in my ribs! Her movements have changed too. I rarely feel kicks anymore.. instead its more of a pushing like she is stretching and pushing her foot out or her fist out. I feel so bonded to her already, and I'm sure I'll miss when she is no longer in me, but I'm getting more and more ready for her to be out of me! I also thought that when you were pregnant you would be hungry all the time and be able to eat alot. But you can't! Brooke takes up so much room my stomach is squished and I usually get full super quick! It's also like the hottest summer ever! I think other than today that it was 95 degrees or hotter every day! Doesn't mother nature know I'm pregnant!?!?

One really cool thing about being pregnant is how happy everyone is to share their pregnancy/baby stories. I work with several women who are older than me, in fact half of them have children my age, that love to share stories with me from when they were pregnant. It's actually pretty cool to see how happy it makes them to talk about it!

I also am amazed at how many friends and family we have. We have been given so many gifts its amazing! My friend Alison is throwing me a baby shower on Sunday, and work is throwing me a small one next Wednesday. Between what we already have and the showers we have been totally lucky that we are so ready for Brooke to arrive! A women at work also gave me 3 trash bags full of baby clothes, which is awesome! I feel totally set on clothes too! Thank you for everyone who has already helped us get ready for Brooke!

Matt Update

Well I haven't blogged in a while.. but since I last bloged.. Matt has joined us old people and turned 30! Yay!

Matt's company threw a BBQ yesterday, which was lots of fun, but had several accidents and injuries! Matt volunteered to bring the BBQ like he does every time. He had to take the BBQ lid off to fit it in his car. When he was opening the back of his Durango up the lid fell out of the back and he tried to catch it. He saved it! but he also cut his hand really badly when he caught it. He ended up driving himself to Urgent Care where he got 6 stitches! I showed up a little later.. but had difficulty watching them sew it up! Here is a picture of his new war wound!

Busy Week!

I had an extremely busy but fun week. It started out on Thursday coming home from work and finding my house at 85 degrees, because my air conditioning was broken! When Matt began calling people to come fix it, they originally said that they were taking appointments for July 19th. July 19th! Like a pregnant women can wait 3 weeks for her air conditioning to be fixed. Luckily Matt was able to diagnose what was wrong and so they were willing to come out and fix it since it was a quick fix. So by Friday afternoon the air conditioning was fixed! Yay!

Monica came to visit on Thursday too! Luckily for her she only had to live one night without the air conditioning while visiting us. Friday was my birthday, and Monica and I spent the day in Boulder. We went up to Flagstaff and wandered Pearl Street. Monica treated me to a pedicure! I sure needed it, as I can hardly reach my feet these days! It was wonderful! We then went and saw Cirque du Soliel that night. It was the Corteo show and it was really good! Monica loved the midgets.. they floated the one around on balloons into the audience and people pushed her up and around!

Saturday we took our time getting up, and then headed to Fort Collins. We were hoping to do the New Belgium Brewery Tour, but unfortunately got there too late and all the tickets were gone. We took the short self guided tour and then Monica and Matt tried free samplers! I drank some weird non-alcoholic drink, but it was fun to hang out!

On Sunday we went up to Estes Park and took the Haunted Stanley Hotel Tour. Stephen King stayed at the Stanley Hotel and it inspired him to write "The Shining". They were suppose to film the original movie there, but they couldn't because it didn't have enough power at the time of the filming. They did however film the newer Mini Series at the Stanley Hotel. The hotel is suppose to be really haunted and room 209 is suppose to be the most haunted room. Monica and I had our pictures taken in a tunnel where they say a little girl use to play, and often people feel her tug on thier clothes when they walk by the tunnel.

On Monday, Monica and I had a relaxing day and worked on our tans. We then went to a Rockies Game with a few of Monica's other friends that live in the area. It was a lot of fun and the Rockies won!

Monica left on Tuesday, and unfortunately she had a really long trip home. Her flight was suppose to leave at 3pm and arrive in Detroit at 8pm. Because of engine trouble and bad weather, she was deplaned twice, and eventually made it home at 12:30 in the morning!

On Wednesday Matt and I went up to Gold Hill in the mountains (where he grew up), like we do every July 4th. Matt use to be active with the volunteer fire department up there and he still goes up and cooks pancakes for their yearly July 4th Pancake Breakfast. It was a lot of fun and we then watched the small town parade. When we came back down to the city we watched the fireworks in Broomfield. They moved them this year and we only had to walk like 2 blocks from our house to see them! It was sweet!

Thursday it was back to work for me! I don't feel rested, but I had a great time. Thursday night we met up with some friends for dinner that are in town from California. Matt use to work with Jam, and it was good to see him and his wife Amy.

This weekend I'm on my own. Well I have Ikaika home with me. He's my guard dog! Matt and Juno went camping for the weekend. Hopefully I get the much needed rest!
